Appliances to Colour Your World

Aug 18, 2020

The old-adage states that people eat with their eyes. Eye candy is about to level up.

Culinary entertainment has elevated cuisine and enjoyment of meals and this includes the environment you consume it in. You no longer have to rely on cabinets and back splashes to create the dominant look in the kitchen. With luxurious Mediterranean tones, candy-laquered finishes and pastel-infused hues, the sky is the limit when it comes to the hub of your home.

The market share in colour appliance options has increased tremendously in the past few years – particularly in the secondary or summer vacation homes where you have the freedom to be a bit more creative in palette choices. Many of our clients feature white cabinetry only to have colour vibrate across the full line of appliances including the dishwasher, fridge and range. Or, they take a focus piece, like a bold, opulent hood or range and immerse it amongst traditional stainless steel appliances like the Hestan piece below.

With the recent popularity of the all-white concept, some clients have purified the kitchen statement with white cabinetry and blended white appliances. Although this may seem mundane, everything in the room is accentuated in contrast. It is “going big” but in a subtle manner. Cafe achieves this concept using matte white appliances with brass accents.

Smeg has ventured into this market in a BIG way.

With features like Italian and British flags, whimsical Mickey Mouse caricatures and Dolce & Gabbana design hand-painted craftsmanship (the latter two not available from Appliance Canada as of this post)– you are sure to find that personal touch to define your home’s personality. They have a catalogue of bright colours - with hoods to match.

For those that are too timid to strike a Mediterranean tone, you also have the option of coloured knobs against a stainless steel range. Thermador provides a blue tone that strikes a calming balance in your kitchen – while Wolf ignites the room with vibrant red options.

The “pop of colour” design aesthetic has made it’s way into the Major Appliance world in a big way. With brands like Smeg, Cafe, Bertazzoni, Blue Star, Hestan, KitchenAid, Fisher & Paykel, La Cornue and Viking gracing the stage, you no longer have to serve up your kitchen in stainless or black stainless options. You could get all of these brands in store at Appliance Canada.
